>

The long, level seafront promenade at Morecambe offers an attractive and interesting focal point and features the Eric Morecambe statue which was unveiled by the Queen in 1999. Morecambe is renowned for its sunsets and magnificent views across the bay to the Lake District. The festival market is situated on Morecambe's promenade, and enjoys stunning views towards the Cumbrian Hills. A traditional covered market on the promenade with 108 stalls and shops offers and excellent way to spend an afternoon.

Excursion 1

Keswick is situated between Skiddaw and Derwentwater and has become a major centre for tourism in the northern Lake District. This beautiful market town offers a wide range of attractions, from shops and restaurants to museums and boating trips around the lake. Grasmere is one of Cumbria's most popular villages, thanks to William Wordsworth who lived there between 1788 and 1808 and produced some of his best work whilst living there.

Excursion 2

Blackpool is considered to be one of Britain's most loved holiday destinations and is just as popular with day trippers as it has a range of things to do for people of all ages. If you come on the October trip, then you will get the opportunity to see the Blackpool Illuminations that turns six miles of the promenade into a spectacular light show.

Excursion 3

The historic town of Penrith was once the capital of the old county of Cumberland, providing a vital trading link between the North and the South. As times have changed so has Penrith, now no longer the capital of modern-day Cumbria it is none-the-less just as vital and even more accessible. Penrith is that ideal evolution - a modern day market town retaining the 'old world' charm of time gone by.
